Kindness As A Way Of Meeting Experience

‘Kindness as a Way of Meeting Experience’ is a somatic, trauma-informed guided meditation designed to gently support nervous system regulation and a felt sense of safety, support, and inner kindness.

This practice is not about forcing relaxation, fixing yourself, or trying to think positive thoughts. It works by allowing the body to settle into its own natural rhythm, where experience can be met with ease rather than effort.

Through embodied awareness, breath, and subtle attention to sensation, this meditation supports:

  • nervous system regulation

  • healing shame and self-judgment

  • releasing chronic tension and hyper-vigilance

  • cultivating kindness as an inner context, not a behavior

  • reconnecting with the body’s innate intelligence

This meditation may be especially helpful if you:

  • struggle with overthinking, perfectionism, or striving

  • feel chronically tense, anxious, or on edge

  • live with CPTSD, trauma, or long-term stress

  • have difficulty relaxing or feeling safe in your body

  • want a meditation that is somatic rather than cognitive

There is nothing you need to do while listening. You don’t need to change your thoughts or emotions. This practice works by allowing your system to recognize a different way of meeting experience, one rooted in presence, safety, and kindness. You may listen lying down or seated. Move slowly afterward.

How to use this meditation

  • use headphones if possible

  • listen in a quiet, comfortable space

  • let the pauses do the work

  • there is no right way to experience this
